Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Ring – the up to date position on a school (details supplied) in County Mayo; (2) Deputy McDowell – the need to amend road traffic regulations to allow motorcyclists to use quality bus corridors; (3) Deputy McGennis – the problems caused for school crossing attendants who are being denied unemployment benefit during the summer period; (4) Deputy Seán Ryan – the urgent need for additional gardaí and resources for Swords, Balbriggan and Malahide Garda stations; (5) Deputy Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny)– the unsatisfactory reply to Parliamentary Question No. 116 of 19 October 2000 on the treatment of adults who suffer from attention deficit disorder and ADHD; (6) Deputy Boylan – the future use of the mammography equipment in Cavan general hospital which has lain idle since 1997; (7) Deputy Gregory – the need to bring forward proposals arising from the report of the commission on the residential-private rental sector; (8) Deputy Sargent – the measures which need to be taken in order to avoid EU fines because of the failure to tackle the waste issue; (9) Deputy Neville – the report of the Social Services Inspectorate on children's residential centres; (10) Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin – the pressing need for greatly expanded provision of child care with the full amount of revenue accruing from payment of previously unpaid DIRT by financial institutions devoted to this purpose; (11) Deputy Fitzgerald – the urgent need for the Government to take action in relation to the crisis in planning affecting child care providers; (12) Deputy Jim Higgins – the decision by 1,200 Aer Lingus clerical staff to withdraw their services tomorrow and the major dis ruption to passenger services over the bank holiday weekend; and (13) Deputy Broughan – the need to increase the level of fuel allowance payable to long-term social welfare recipients.

The matters raised by Deputies Jim Higgins, Browne, Boylan and McDowell have been selected for discussion.
