My Department has produced a booklet entitled Information Guide to our Health Services which is designed to explain eligibility for health services, outline the range of services and benefits provided and to indicate the basis on which a person may avail of them. This booklet is available free of charge from the health boards. In addition, detailed information on local services is available directly from the health boards.
I have no plans at present to introduce a computerised national client eligibility index. However, in order to improve the accessibility to the information referred to above, I have requested the chief executive officers of the health boards to consider including information on eligibility on their websites.
