492 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will detail, from the time of the present Dáil, the financial penalties imposed on the Government resulting from the failure of his Department to comply with EU directives; and the legal proceedings that are now pending by the EU as a result of the failure of his Department to comply with EU directives. No financial penalties have been imposed on my Department resulting from failure to comply with EU directives.
The following table sets out the current position regarding EU directives in respect of which the due date for implementation has passed and the action taken by the European Commission in relation to same. In all cases the drafting by my Department of the statutory instrument for transposition is at an advanced stage.
