574 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Health and Children when the report on the prevention of transmission of blood borne diseases in the health care setting will be implemented; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24439/00]
The report referred to by the Deputy is a technical report which was published in 1999 and has been circulated to health agencies for their guidance in this area. Certain issues surrounding the compensation and retraining of staff are currently the subject of discussions between my Department, the Health Service Employers Agency and the medical organisations concerned.
