775 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if a property (details supplied) in County Cork has been purchased by the State; the plans he has to use this properly to accommodate asylum seekers; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23952/00]

Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform (Mr. O'Donoghue):

The property in question is the subject of a letting agreement by the Office of Public Works. The property requires renovation to make it suitable for use by asylum seekers. No decision on its use in this respect has been made pending the completion of the renovation works.
