797 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will adjust the means test criteria for eligibility for participation in the free legal aid scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24370/00]
I can confirm to the Deputy that my Department is at present reviewing the means test criteria used to determine financial eligibility under the Civil Legal Aid Act, 1995. The review is being conducted in consultation with the Legal Aid Board. I expect to be in a position to make a statement on the matter in the near future.
