841 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Education and Science when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 22 will be in receipt of home tuition in view of the fact he has not received formal education tuition since May 2000 and suffers from autism and epilepsy; if the application for home tuition will be expedited as a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have asked my Department's inspectorate to contact the school which the child in question had attended, with a view to identifying the precise support services required to facilitate the child's return to school.
In the meantime, I have asked my Department to give urgent consideration to the provision of a home tuition service to the child in question. My Department will be in contact with the child's parents in relation to this matter.
