Ceist:

75 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the total sales in respect of telecommunications in 1999; the total number of sales and gross income of voice telephone calls, fax telephone calls, data calls and internet calls distinguishing between land lines and mobile lines; and if, in respect of both land lines and mobile lines, she will indicate the total income therefrom and the levy of taxes and excises charged. My Department does not collect such statistics. This is a function which is carried out by the Office of the Director of Telecommunications Regulation. Statistics in respect of the telecommunications sector are published by the Office of the Director of Telecommunications Regulation on a quarterly basis.

In respect of your query on level of taxes and excises this is a matter for the Revenue Commissioners.
