Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Seán Ryan – the urgent need for additional gardaí and resources for Swords, Balbriggan and Malahide Garda stations; (2) Deputy Creed – the proposed extension to St. Mary's secondary school, Macroom; (3) Deputy Deasy – the need for the Minister for Marine and Natural Resources to take immediate steps to provide a 24 hour sea rescue helicopter service at Waterford Airport; (4) Deputy Neville – the need to address the issue of child poverty; (6) Deputy Ring – the progress made by the Working Group on Elderly Abuse; (7) Deputy Deenihan – the need for an extension at O'Brennan school, Ballymacelligott, County Kerry; (8) Deputy Ulick Burke – the urgent need to review the criteria for entrance to community employment schemes; (9) Deputy Cecilia Keaveney – the need to take action to tackle the unemployment problem in the north-west region; (10) Deputy Enright – the response of the Minister for Education and Science to Parliamentary Question No. 159 on 9 November 2000; (11) Deputy Yates – the response of the Government to recent flood damage in respect of the availability of humanitarian aid, compensation schemes and financial support to local authorities; (12) Deputy Jim Higgins – the ongoing industrial relations difficulties within Aer Lingus which have led to the strike by the company's caterers on 15 November 2000; (13) Deputy Allen – the exclusion of half of the female population from the breast check programme; (14) Deputy Broughan – the urgent need to resolve the dispute at Marine Terminals Limited in Dublin Port; (15) Deputy O'Sullivan – the need for research to determine if stimulant drinks pose a threat to the health of those taking them.

The matters raised by Deputies Yates, Allen, O'Sullivan and Deasy have been selected for discussion.
