Ceist:152 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the progress made to date in the Garda investigation into the Omagh bombing; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25759/00]
Written Answers. - Omagh Bombing.
Since the bombing, 78 individuals have been arrested in the State under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Acts and questioned about matters relating to the Omagh bomb investigation. In addition 130 searches have been carried out by the Garda Síochána.
To date one person has been charged with offences related to the bombing. The investigation is, of course, continuing.
