The 2000 area aid application for the person named has been fully processed with no outstanding errors and the area for payment purposes has been determined at 56.81 hectares. Any payments due will issue as soon as possible.

Ceist:210 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will intervene on behalf of a person (details supplied) and resolve all area aid difficulties to ensure that cattle headage, suckler cow and extensification payments for 2000 are immediately released in view of the fact that no changes have occurred in his land acreage; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An over-claim has been identified on one of the land parcels claimed by the person named in 2000. Maps have issued to him and he has been informed of the extent of this overclaim. The application cannot be further processed until a reply is received.

Ceist:211 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reasons area aid was refused in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Carlow; if the case can be re-examined with a view to taking all of his lands into consideration; and if he will give a positive reply in this regard. The person named submitted an area aid application which included land that was also claimed by another herdowner. My Department contacted both herdowners to clarify the matter. The person named responded, indicating that he does have a right to claim the parcel in question, and has been given credit for it.
Consequently the 2000 area aid application for the person named has now been fully processed with no outstanding errors and the area for payment purposes has been determined at 86.40 hectares. The person named was paid his entitlement of £2,918.32 under the 2000 suckler cow application on 24 November 2000. Any payments due will issue as soon as possible.
