Written Answers. - School Facilities.
My Department has received an application for funding from the group to which the Deputy refers. While my Department has some scope to provide funding towards the development of playing pitches on school premises, it is not possible to fund sporting facilities on property vested in bodies other than schools.
In the circumstances outlined in the question I would suggest that the group could make application for grant assistance under the sports capital programme, which is administered by the Department of Tourism, Sport and Recreation.
