Cecilia Keaveney

Ceist:

153 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the position in relation to a 2000 headage grant payment for a person (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28497/00]

One of the parcels claimed by the person named in his 2000 area aid application overlaps with a parcel of land claimed by another applicant. Both herd owners have been written to with a view to resolving the problem and a response is awaited. No payments can issue until the matter has been resolved.

Pat Carey

Ceist:

155 Mr. P. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry was not awarded a headage grant in 2000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28499/00]

The herdowner was convicted of breaches of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966. Consequently, he was found to have contravened clause 37 of the terms and conditions of the 2000 cattle headage scheme. The herdowner lodged an appeal with the headage and premia appeals unit on 10 October 2000 concern ing his 2000 cattle headage application. Appeals require individual examination and are dealt with in the order in which they are received. This appeal will be examined in the near future and the herdowner will be notified of the outcome.

Dan Neville

Ceist:

156 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a special beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [28500/00]

The person named applied for special beef premium in respect of 47 animals on 1 March 2000. This application was the subject of a field inspection. During the course of that inspection, it was discovered that one animal was not in the applicant's ownership and possession on the date of application. This animal was rejected with penalty. In addition a number of animals on the applicant's holding were found to be non-compliant with regard to the identification and registration regulations resulting in a reduction penalty on the applicant's three applications lodged in the 12 months prior to inspection date of 18 May 2000. The applicant had been informed of this decision and any payments due will issue as soon as possible.
