197 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the conditions at a school (details supplied) in County Wexford; if his attention has further been drawn to the grievance of staff, pupils and parents in relation to the delays in expediting complete renovation of this school; and if he will outline the timetable for the improvement works that are to be carried out in this regard. The proposed extension at the school to which the Deputy refers is progressing through architectural planning.
In October 2000 the management authority of the school was authorised to instruct its design team to submit additional information in relation to the stage three submission, development sketch scheme. A response was received on 3 November 2000 and is currently being assessed within my Department. When the assessment is completed, and if found to be in order, the matter of progressing to the next stage of the planning process will be determined.
