146 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the situation regarding an area aid application by a person (details supplied) in County Cork; if there is an overclaim in relation to this application; and if so, the financial consequences in this regard. [29532/00]
The person named submitted a 2000 area aid application on which he declared a total of 38.65 hectares. This application was made up of seven parcels of land on which boundaries on two parcels were amended. This information was entered on the Department's electronic database and an overclaim was identified on one of the land parcels claimed. Maps issued to the person concerned and he replied making further amendments to the boundaries. These changes are at present being entered on the Department's electronic database. It is hoped to have this exercise completed shortly to enable processing of the application to be completed.
Any payments due will issue as soon as possible.
