Vol. 528 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Correspondence.

Gay Mitchell

Ceist:

198 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will arrange for a senior official from his Department to investigate allegations made by a person (details supplied) in Dublin 2 which were the subject of Parliamentary Question No. 79 of 16 November 2000. [29281/00]

I refer the Deputy to my reply of the 16 Nov ember in which I stated that the allegations of wrongful detention by the person concerned have been fully investigated by the inspector of mental hospitals. The inspector is satisfied that in relation to her care and treatment the doctors acted appropriately and in accordance with the provisions of the Mental Treatment Act, 1945. As the allegations have been fully investigated, I do not propose to take any further action in this matter.
