401 Mr. Power asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department is in receipt of an application from a school (details supplied) in County Kildare to extend their school; if the necessary funds will be provided in 2001 to allow the development commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department's planning and building unit has recently examined the stage 1 submission, site suitability, in relation to the proposed extension at the school to which the Deputy refers. The school authorities have been advised that it is now in order to prepare stage 2 – outline sketch scheme.
It is too early at this point to say what funding will be required for the year 2001.
