Vol. 528 No. 1

Written Answers. - Industrial Relations Disputes.

Michael Creed

Ceist:

413 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science if staff in his Department involved in an industrial relations dispute and thereby working to rule, have been paid their wages on occasions when this form of protest has occurred. [29497/00]

In industrial relations disputes, decisions in relation to the payment or non-payment of salary must take account of a range of factors including the nature and scale of the action and its impact upon the delivery of core services. There have been occasions where staff within the Department of Education and Science, involved in limited forms of industrial action, were paid their salaries.
