208 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the distribution of the 138 new probationer gardaí attested from 6 December 2000; the divisions to which they have been assigned; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29839/00]

I am informed by the Garda authorities who are responsible for the detailed allocation of personnel to individual areas that 137 probationer gardaí, who were attested at the Garda College between 23 November and 8 December 2000 were allocated to the following divisions for the duration of operation freeflow:

DMA South Central	28
DMA South	18
DMA North Central	28
DMA North	18
DMA East	17
DMA West	18
Cork City	7
Galway West	3

I am also informed that these gardaí will be re-allocated to permanent divisions, which have yet to be determined on 15 January 2001.
