Written Answers. - Agri-Tourism.
Future funding from my Department for rural tourism including agri-tourism will be provided under the proposed mainstream national rural development programme. Some £59 million has been allocated to the programme for Leader-type activities including agri-tourism projects. Approval of the European Commission to proceed with the programme is expected early in the new year.
Meanwhile the operating rules and terms and conditions for initiatives including agri-tourism, which will be supported under the programme, are being drawn up by my Department.
