Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Maternity Hospitals.

Frances Fitzgerald

Ceist:

727 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has satisfied himself that Dublin maternity hospitals have the resources to deal with their increasing careloads. [2356/01]

The Eastern Regional Health Authority – ERHA – has responsibility for the provision of services in the eastern region. My Department is advised by the authority that it is not aware of particular resourcing difficulties affecting the Dublin maternity hospitals. The ERHA will be meeting with each of the maternity hospitals over the next month to agree their provider plans for 2001. Any issues of concern to the hospitals can be discussed at that time.

Question No. 728 answered with Question No. 670.
