944 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will publish a study, commissioned by Údarás na Gaeltachta, of the technology infrastructure of the Gaeltacht and the Islands; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [1085/01]
Údarás na Gaeltachta commissioned Norcontel (Ireland) Limited to undertake a study on broadband telecommunications in the Gaeltacht and islands following a request from me. This study examined the provision of modern telecom services to the Gaeltacht and the Islands and was funded by both Údarás na Gaeltachta and my Department. The report of the study is being actively considered and it is not intended to publish the report as some of the subject matter is considered to be strategically and commercially sensitive.
