994 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will make any changes to the Garda pension scheme in the context of any recommendations contained in the Final Report of the Commission on Public Service Pensions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1006/01]

The position is that my colleague, the Minister for Finance, recently received the final report of the Commission on Public Service Pensions. The Government intends to publish the report and, once it has had an opportunity to consider the report in detail, to make formal decisions on the commission's recommendations.
