1002 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when the decision, taken by his predecessor, to give Tallaght divisional status for Garda purposes will be implemented; the reasons for the delay in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1113/01]
I am informed by the Garda authorities that the DMA south division is being administered from Crumlin until the completion of divisional office space at Tallaght and that when the accommodation is ready the divisional officer in Crumlin and his staff will then transfer to Tallaght Garda station. It is not possible to say when the work at Tallaght station will commence, but it will be progressed as quickly as overall priorities within the Garda building programme and the availability of financial and other resources allow.
