1187 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason for the delay in the evaluation of Ladywell boy's and Thomastown convent primary schools in County Kilkenny; when a final decision will be made in respect of a prospective site to allow an amalgamation to take place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1604/01]
While a preliminary site inspection has been carried out, no decision has been taken to purchase a site for the school in question.
In view of the large number of school building projects currently being processed by my Department, it is not possible at this point to give any indication as to the timetable for the provision of the facilities. The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.
