Vol. 529 No. 3
100 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the amount of additional quota available for distribution in the new quota year commencing in April 2001. [2869/01]
Ireland was allocated an additional 32 million gallons under Agenda 2000. Of this, some 20.5 million gallons was available with effect from the 2000-2001 milk quota year. The remainder, 11.5 million gallons, is available from the 2001-2002 milk quota year.
101 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the meetings he has had with the Milk Rights Group since this issue was debated in Dáil Éireann; and the progress being made in this regard. [2870/01]
102 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will consider making a substantial allocation of the 11 million gallons of milk to be allocated to Ireland for distribution on 1 April 2001 to development farmers who were denied their rights in the 1983-84 period; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2871/01]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 101 and 102 together.
I have had no meetings with the Milk Rights Group since the issue was debated in the Dáil in November of last year. I have outlined my position in relation to the Milk Rights Group in Dáil Éireann on numerous occasions.
