149 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children the extent of special pay awards and national pay awards due to health service pensioners which are still outstanding, the percentage of arrears due per grade, if he will pay these arrears in full this month in order to avoid further problems for pensioners, and if he will make a statement on the matter. I confirm that my Department has issued the necessary sanctions for the payment by health boards and other employers in the health services of increased payments to pensioners arising from all special pay awards and national pay awards due to date and no sanctions are currently outstanding. If, however, the Deputy wishes to raise a specific instance of concern, I will have it investigated without delay.
