212 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the purpose of the suitors fund; the amount currently in this fund; the purpose for which this money can be spent; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2935/01]
The Funds of Suitors Act, 1984, provided for the disposal of part of the funds of suitors vested in the accountant of the courts of justice. The purposes for which the disposal of such funds may made are specified in the Act. The current value of funds in the funds of suitors account is £84,124.06.
