67 Mr. Healy asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the reason inaccurate information was provided to the media by an official Government source in advance of the publication of the November 2000 monthly progress report on the employment action plan; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Following publication of a newspaper article on 15 January 2001, which reported on a monthly progress report on the employment action plan, the press office in my Department provided clarification as to the interpretation of certain data. That clarification was subsequently published on 17 January. The issue here would appear to be one of misunderstanding rather than one involving the provision of inaccurate information.
