Ceist:141 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the capital projects funded by her Department that commenced in the Waterford constituency in 2000; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4830/01]
Written Answers. - Capital Projects.
Details of the capital projects that commenced in the Waterford constituency in 2000 and funded by my Department are as follows. The main projects commenced by Iarnród Éireann in the Waterford area in 2000 related to the safety investment programme. In 2000, 6.5 miles of track were renewed on the Dublin-Waterford line and five level crossings were upgraded. This programme will continue in 2001 when it is planned to relay ten miles of track, upgrade 12 level crossings and replace three bridges. The 2000 programme amounted to approximately £3 million and the 2001 programme will cost approximately £5 million.
