Ceist:

274 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will ensure that a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6 receives urgently needed speech therapy; if he will ask all the community care areas in the health board to consider taking this person on, as the local service is full; and the emergency steps he will take to ensure that there are sufficient speech therapists to immediately tackle the backlog. The provision of health related services, including speech and language therapy, to people with physical and sensory disabilities is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
