283 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the Lavally/Ballygarriff group water scheme, County Galway; if a special contributional grant of £50,000 can be made available to enable the scheme to be viable as there are special stoneworks required to facilitate the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Last week I allocated a block grant of £3.175 million to Galway County Council under this year's rural water programme. The provision of grant assistance to individual group water schemes from this allocation is a devolved function of the council. There are no special funds available to me outside the block grants.
