120 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the way in which his Department intends to mark the family friendly workplace day on 1 March 2001; the initiatives he has in this area; and the way in which family friendly initiatives are being implemented for the staff in his Department. In the run up to family friendly workplace day, all staff in my Department will be reminded of the various options available to them to allow them to balance their work and family commitments.
In addition to the normal statutory entitlements of maternity, adoptive, parental and carer's leave, my Department has in place the following schemes which enable officers with children or dependants to organise their working time around family life: flexible working hours; job sharing; paternity leave; career breaks, and term time leave.
