Vol. 531 No. 2

Written Answers. - Local Authority Funding.

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

14 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when specific allocations under the action on housing programme for non-national road schemes supporting residential and other developments in County Waterford will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1190/01]

The 2001 non-national roads grant allocation of some £6.882 million for Waterford County Council which I have recently announced included a provision, under the new budget line to support housing and other development, of £675,000 for works in 2001 on the Tramore ring road, Phase 4. Similarly, Waterford Corporation's allocation of over £2.1 million included a provision in 2001 of £650,000 for the outer ring road, Waterford.

These overall non-national road grant allocations to Waterford County Council and Waterford Corporation represent increases of 71% and 229%, respectively, on their corresponding 1997 original allocations.

Question No. 15 answered with Question No. 10.
