Vol. 531 No. 2

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Brian O'Shea

Ceist:

45 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when permission will be given for the proposed Dungarvan sewerage treatment scheme to proceed to con struction; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1189/01]

This scheme was included in the Water Services Investment Programme 2000 to 2002 to start construction last year. The site investigation phase has now been completed.

Contract documents for the collection and delivery system for the scheme have been submitted to my Department by Waterford County Council and are currently under examination. They will be dealt with as quickly as possible. I understand that tender documents for the design-build-operate contract for the wastewater treatment plant are currently being prepared by the council for submission to the Department for approval.
