88 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the number of non-established civil servants employed by him in his office; the number within his Department; the salary scale, conditions, terms of employment and function in each case; the names of the persons or firms so employed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A number of contract staff are employed in certain areas of the Office of Public Works on fixed contracts where a specific expertise is required for particular projects or initiatives, for example, art management, IT, legal services etc. It should also be noted that Ms Caitriona Meehan works as a press officer to the Office of Public Works on an annual salary of £28,480.00.
All of the above are subject to the Civil Service Regulations Acts, 1956 to 1996, and any other Act for the time being in force relating to employment in the Civil Service. In addition there are a number of individuals in my Department on temporary contracts engaged in policy or IT related work in areas such as the public private partnership project and the EU Structural Funds.
