Vol. 531 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax Yield.

Jim Mitchell

Ceist:

90 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Finance the yield from deposit interest retention Tax in 2000. [5358/01]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the yield in 2000 from deposit interest retention tax ordinarily due for payment in the year was £134 million, net of refunds. In addition, the total amount of liabilities determined in the year as a result of the DIRT look-back audits of financial institutions was £173,292,786, which has been paid in full. This amount was reported by Revenue to the Committee of Public Accounts of Dáil Éireann on 31 October 2000.
