378 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if any proposals to give effect to the report of the interdepartmental group on the Gaming and Lotteries Act, 1979, have as yet been or are in the process of being formulated by his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The implementation of the recommendations contained in the report of the interdepartmental review group is being considered at present in the context of the overall legislative programme of my Department. The report recommended an immediate increase from £10,000 to £15,000 in the prize limit for periodical lotteries under section 28 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act, 1956. I implemented this recommendation by means of ministerial order, Statutory Instrument No. 174 of 2000, and it came into effect from 1 August 2000.
