443 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has made any progress on his promised outreach centre for third level education in County Monaghan; if any site or building has been earmarked; if students will be accommodated by September-October 2001; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5844/01]
The need for an outreach centre in Monaghan will be considered in the light of my plans to strengthen the education base in regions which are not well served at present and to establish effective links with higher and further education institutions. I will address any building issues in the context of my overall approach to outreach centres, if necessary.
I am not in a position at present to indicate a time frame for possible developments in this regard.
