Vol. 531 No. 3

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Dinny McGinley

Ceist:

114 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he has received an application for additional funding towards the completion of developments at Portnablagh Pier, County Donegal; if so, if the application is being considered; the total cost of completion; and if he will allocate a grant to bring the project to a satisfactory conclusion. [5877/01]

Funding of £113,000 was provided to Donegal County Council by my Department in 1999 and £53,900 in 2000 for dredging works and slipway construction at Portnablagh which cost £222,800. Donegal County Council has submitted an application to my Department for funding for the construction of a quay wall at Portnablagh costing £40,000 and this will be considered in the context of available funding and the multiannual fishery harbour development programmes.
