Ceist:

133 Mr. Power asked the Minister for Defence if his attention has been drawn to the fact that an increase in rent has resulted in the closure of the golf course at Lumville, the Curragh, County Kildare; and if, in view of its amenity value, he will make every effort to ensure that the course re-opens. The club in question ceased to exist when the licensee surrendered the licence on the property with effect from 31 October 2000. The rent payable had not been increased since 1993. It is now considered that the lands in question be allowed to fully re-integrate into the traditional open plain.
