Vol. 532 No. 4
131 Mr. Deasy asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the percentage of funding for FÁS schemes provided by the Exchequer; and the percentage provided from the EU. [8093/01]
Total FÁS expenditure in 2000 was £587.7 million. Of that amount £50.4 million is from EU sources. Almost all of the EU funds is spent on training programmes for the employed and unemployed or other disadvantaged groups. More than £300 million of FÁS expenditure on employment schemes in 2000, including community employment, is not eligible for EU co-financing.
