Vol. 533 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Ceist:

90 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will intervene on behalf of a person (details supplied) and rescind the decision made on his cattle headage appeal for the three animals concerned; and if he will consider this case in the light of the Agriculture Appeals Bill, 2001. [8323/01]

The person named was informed in writing on 4 December 2000 by my Department that no payments were due to him under the 2000 cattle headage scheme or the 2000 suckler cow premium scheme. He was given the opportunity to have this decision reviewed, by writing to my Department setting out any facts which he wished to put forward to support his case. He wrote to my Department on 12 January 2001 requesting a review. The case was fully re-examined, and the decision was upheld. He was advised of this in writing on 5 March 2001, and informed that he could appeal to the independent headage and premia appeals unit. While no appeal has been received to date, any such appeal will be considered as a matter of urgency.
