Ceist:130 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when he proposes to introduce a new coroners Bill; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8492/01]
Written Answers. - Proposed Legislation.
I can inform the Deputy that following the receipt last November of the report of the working group on the review of the coroner service, the Government approved the group's proposals for new legislation in this area. It is expected that the rules committee, as proposed in the report, will shortly be established and preliminary work on the preparation of a new coroners Bill will be considered, taking into account the development of rules by this committee.
