Ceist:198 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason there has been a delay in publishing the promised health research strategy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8752/01]
Written Answers. - Health Research Strategy.
It was originally planned to publish the health research strategy early this year but due to the very heavy workload in the Department it has not proved possible to adhere strictly to this timetable. The chief executive officers of the health boards had been asked by my Department for their views on the draft research strategy of the Health Research Board and their views have recently been received. I hope to submit the strategy to Government in the near future.
