259 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will make funding available for the refurbishment of the pier at Baile na nGall, Dingle, County Kerry; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8748/01]
My Department has identified Baile na nGall pier as one of the strategic Gaeltacht piers which it is hoped will be developed during the duration of the National Development Plan, 2000-2006. In this context, consultants have been appointed by Kerry County Council to undertake a feasibility study on this pier. Once the results of the feasibility study are available, the question of the provision of funding for the development of the pier will be considered further.
