Vol. 533 No. 3

Written Answers. - Owner Occupiers.

Dan Neville

Ceist:

61 Mr. Neville asked the Taoiseach the number of homeowners at present occupying houses and apartments in urban and rural areas. [8979/01]

Approximately 915,000 of the 1.2 million households were owner occupied according to the results of the quarterly national household survey for the third quarter of 1998. The most recent urban-rural breakdown is that derived from the 1991 census which indicated that 52.7% of owner occupied dwellings were in urban areas.
