80 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Finance when the technical summary report on the Lower Feale catchment flood supply study will be published by the Commissioner of Public Works; when the work will commence on the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10314/01]
The final engineering report on the Lower Feale Catchment Flood Study has been received by the Commissioners of Public Works. I am arranging for a copy of the report to be placed in the Oireachtas library.
The report contains an analysis of potential flood alleviation measures with a number of options. These options are very complex and require detailed examination by the Commissioners as to costings, effectiveness and benefits as well as the effects on the environment. The examination process is ongoing.
