82 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has been told by the Western Health Board that the waiting time for surgery at University College Hospital, Galway, will be between two and three years. The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of that board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
