286 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Education and Science if he proposes to accede to the request from the Galway School Project for the appointment of a full-time learning support teacher; when such a teacher will be sanctioned; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10394/01]
I am aware of the issue to which the Deputy refers.
I recently met representatives of the school in question to discuss this matter. Arising from this meeting I am arranging for a member of my Department's inspectorate to visit the school to assess its needs.
Once the inspector's report is received, my Department will consider the question of additional supports for the school.
